Back in Action!

I always tell my clients that they don’t need to worry about something happening to me that would prevent me from photographing their event. First, I’d never missed an event before due to health issues, or any other reason. I also assured them that I have an extensive network of colleagues that would always be able to cover for me.

That all changed this summer. I had a rare immune system over-reaction after catching the H1N1 virus and ended up quite ill. The good news is that after a long hospitalization followed by a short rehab, I’m doing well. I actually recovered much more quickly than my doctors had expected. I’ve been told by the medical team at Kaiser that they refer to me as “miracle boy!” I’m grateful for the excellent care I received and so glad to be healthy again.

All my clients events were covered. Recently, I photographed my first wedding since my recovery and that will featured in my next post. A big thank you goes to my cousins and mentors Janna and Lowell of Art & Clarity Photography who stepped in and helped out invaluably. An even bigger thank you goes to my wife who stood by me all the way through and was really amazing through it all. I’m grateful to my other family members and my amazing community for all their generous support!
